Indoor or outdoor, decorative or technical, lighting in all its many variations is in huge demand. The event which drives the market in Asia and influences the global lighting industry is the HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair.
In 2012, the Spring Edition of the fair has new and earlier dates - 6-9 April. This is a slight change in timing but a huge expansion of opportunity. The fair can now take place in Hall 1 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), a prime location with bigger space for exhibitors to offer more products to meet buyer demand.
With the fair experiencing 70% growth in exhibitors in 2011, the larger space represents a chance for more exhibitors to join in 2012, making this show the perfect platform to offer an even wider spectrum of lighting products. Among the 12 countries and regions, which were represented by over 640 exhibitors, were newcomers France, Macau, the Netherlands and Spain. A total of 25,438 buyers from 135 countries and regions came to source from these exhibitors.
The fourth edition of the fair introduces several new zones which will attract the attention of motivated buyers and allow effective product differentiation. |
Hall of Aurora is an elegant environment which is especially designed to house branded products. |
Hall of LED caters specifically for exhibitors and buyers of a wide range of LED applications. |
Retail Lighting hosts exhibitors offering retail business solutions. |
The fair's location, Hall 1 of HKCEC, is prominent and easily accessible to buyers. The fair zones complement this by grouping exhibitors logically, so buyers can zero in quickly on potential business partners. Zones cover household, commercial and architectural lighting.
In 2012, there will be specialist zones for Decorative Lighting, Green Lighting, LED Lighting and Lighting Accessories, Parts & Components. Exhibitors of products related to Commercial Lighting and Technical & Outdoor Lighting are also housed in their own sectors.
The Lighting Fair is an information forum as well as a trading platform. With lighting becoming an important lifestyle product, it is vital for designers and manufacturers to forecast trends. It is equally important to keep abreast of international regulatory issues affecting imports/exports, as well as to understand technological developments.
The fair provides information in its formal seminar programme. It also provides the opportunity to learn from other industry players through informal networking events.
